Heffalumps and Woozles (7,8,9)

By Noel Jones

Before life’s problems

compounded at an

exponential rate, and

thoughts of funds,

futures, and females

consumed our

every rumination,

Before our idea

of amusement

turned to tricks

instead of treats,

alcohol and weed

stunted our pupilage,

and we abandoned

our immaturity,

There was simplicity,

there was the four

of us, saturday morning,

sitting on the floor,

forks in hand,

preoccupied with waffles

and poorly stitched

antagonists pursuing

a petrified Pooh bear.
