Lakehead Thunderwolves are back in action!

This month Lakehead University Thunderwolves Varsity teams will be back in action! From Varsity Hockey, Volleyball, and Basketball, The Argus has everything you need to know about Thunderwolves' home-opening games.

First off, the Varsity Men’s Hockey team will be taking the ice this upcoming weekend. They will face off against the Guelph Gryphons in exhibition games Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th at the Fort William Gardens. Games start at 7 pm both nights and you can purchase tickets online or at the Fort William Gardens Box Office.

The following weekend, the Varsity Women’s Volleyball team will see their home court for the first time this season with a triple-header weekend against two teams from Winnipeg. The Thunderwolves will take on the Winnipeg Wesmen on Friday, October 14th at 6 pm and Saturday, October 15th at 11 am. On Sunday, October 16th, they will play the Providence Pilots at 11 am.

After reading week, you can catch more action in the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse with the homecoming Varsity Basketball games. On Friday, October 21st the Women’s Basketball team will take to the home court versus the Brandon Bobcats at 6 pm, followed by Varsity Men’s Basketball versus Nipissing Lakers at 8 pm. Both teams will be back on the hardwood Saturday at the same time for a second game against Brandon and Nipissing, respectively.

With three weekends' worth of home-opener games, October is a great month to catch some pre-season Thunderwolves games! The OUA regular season will begin in November; for more information on each team's schedule, visit thunderwolves.ca.
