Last year, I started teacher’s college and was looking for a flexible job that could work around my busy school schedule. The reality is; being in school is a lot of work! A friend told me about The Argus, and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity for me for many reasons. I was told I could create topics to write about, work from home, and choose my hours and deadlines. Almost too good to be true, right? Well, it is true. 

I’ve gained a lot of skills from working with The Argus. I’ve become a better newswriter, researcher, leader and communicator. All these skills will benefit me in my personal and professional life going forward. It would be exciting to see some first-year Lakehead students apply and get involved in their Lakehead community. As some of the current Argus staff graduate at the end of the school year, it would be amazing to have a new team here in Orillia who can keep The Argus running and thriving, keeping our readers aware of all news Lakehead and fun!
