Well-U Wednesdays: Take Care of You

For the first six weeks of school, Lakehead Orillia is hosting WellU Wednesdays! There have been two WellU Wednesday events held since the start of the fall semester. Different activities are planned to promote student health and wellness as students get used to their post-summer schedules. The “Block Party” and “Let it Grow” events have already taken place, but no worries, there are still four weeks' worth of events to attend.

I will briefly go over the upcoming events in hopes that some pique your interest. Say you are interested in becoming more active on campus. In that case, there will be outdoor games, a yoga class, and people who can answer questions about recreational facilities, intramural sports, and Lakehead club sports teams at your service on September 20th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in front of Simcoe Hall!

On September 27th (11 am- 2 pm), “Fall Flavours” will be held. Again, at Simcoe Hall, you can embrace your inner fall and try various fall-themed foods, visit local vendors at Lakehead Orillia, and learn more about food security. Similarly, as a “Welcome!” to October, you can make some Mocktails on October 4th (11 am - 2 pm) in the Dining Hall. They will be set up outside on picnic tables. Get ready to make your drink and play some “drinking games.”!

Finally, on October 11, between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., a special event at Heritage Place for the Year 1 Cohorts will be held. “Fill Your Cup” involves learning more about self-care options, and it’s an opportunity to grab a snack/tea/coffee before or after class. Who doesn't love free food right?

Thank you to the Student Health & Wellness / Student Accessibility Services teams for hosting these events for Lakehead Orillia students! Your efforts do not go unnoticed!
