Oh the Places You Can Go (To Study at Lakehead)

So…finals are coming.

With the help of my colleague, Chiara, we decided to reveal some of our favorite study spots on campus.  Don’t forget to check out the reel for this article! And if you see us, feel free to say hello!

Tunnels by LUSU

For minimal disturbances I suggest going to the tunnels to study or complete any assignments if you also want to be close to your classes. It is located downstairs from the bookstore and they are usually secluded and quiet. I do my best work here without interruption when I am not at home because let’s be real, there is so much going on at campus that it’s pretty easy to get side tracked. So, find a spot at one of their couches, put on a playlist and get started!

Upper Floor Library

Also known as the quiet floor. I love coming here in the evening when the sun is setting. It gives off such a dark academia vibe to be surrounded by books whilst being productive. Also, there are many students that come here to work so it’s easy to be productive together!

Upstairs Student Central

Grab some Starbucks and head up the stairs by student central! Here is perfect for group sessions as not a lot of people know about it. It’s good to get work done here before an event in Agora because all you have to do is walk down the stairs!

CASES Building

I love coming here during the day. It’s filled with so much natural light and lounge chairs for studying. There’s also a white board to pitch ideas and a sound proof room for working. It’s really modern compared to other parts of campus so a lot of students love it here as well.

ATAC 4th and 5th floors

For those who study best at night, this is the place to be. There are little to no distractions with very minimal movement of students as compared to lower floor ATAC. Without a doubt there is an industrial science vibe to both these floors but it works because you see fellow engineering and science students being productive too!

Be sure to let us know in the comments what your favourite study spots are and cheers to (almost) being done another academic year!
